Draft Transit Recommendations

Rail transit (streetcar and light rail) is part of Mesa’s long-term vision for the future. Extension of the Tempe Streetcar is currently under study and this expansion features in Mesa’s future transit plans. A possible high-capacity extension along Country Club Drive is also shown in the map. As of today, there are no active plans to extend light rail in Mesa. Evaluation and planning of any light rail extension will be conducted by Valley Metro and feature separate outreach and engagement activities.
